Located in the heart of Victoria, Bendigo is a thriving city of around 95,000 people. It is located roughly 150 kilometers from the capital of Victoria, Melbourne, making it a bustling city due to the expansive train lines connecting it to the capital city. It is the fourth largest inland city in Victoria and has a large economy of trades people and retail outlets. Bendigo became a popular city in the mid 1800s due to the expansive gold rush of the time. During this period, the city was one of the richest in the world to due massive amount of gold and overseas trading. This city is also one of the largest finance centers in and around Victoria falling only behind Melbourne as it is the birth place and home of Australia’s only provincially HG retail bank which are the Bendigo Bank and more recently the Adelaide Bank.
